I've used Vanaken for my own pets, for strays, and for feral cats who have needed help. Dr. Johnson is a wonderful and loving vet. The animal hospital is in a low rent part of town, and the waiting room furniture is old... probably second hand. But I'm glad to forego the trappings of more expensive vets in order to make medical help more affordable for families who would otherwise forego giving medical attention to their pets.
A few years ago I seriously hurt a feral cat who had climbed into my car engine during a cold winter night. I rushed her to Vanaken, expecting to have to put her down. But they hospitalized and cared for her for almost two months! When they returned her to me, she was healthy, and no longer feral, and now she is our pet. And, the animal hospital bill was something I could afford!
Whenever I hear someone tell me their pet has a health problem that they can't afford
to deal with, I refer them to Vanaken. And every time I do, I hear good reports
from whomever I referred.
